J. W. BEADLE FOUND DEAD - - NEIGHBORS SAY BAD ALCOHOL - - Hunting Party Found Body of J. M. Beadle in His Home In A State of Decomposition
Empty Fruit Jars Found, One Containing Half Gallon of Corn Whiskey.
A hunting party went to the house of J. W. Beadle about four miles northwest of town last Wednesday and upon entering the house found Beadle lying across the bed with his shoes and one stocking off and his body in a state of decomposition.
The party notified the authorities who went to the scene and held an inquest.
The coroners jury returned a verdict to the effect that J. W. Beadle came to his death from a cause unknown.
Neighbors of Mr. Beadle are of the opinion that his death was caused from alcohol poison, and that his death occurred on Sunday, January 7, 1923. On that afternoon it is said he was drinking heavily and had forced his son and daughter-in-law to leave the premises. His supper which was prepared by young Mrs. Beadle was untouched. Evidently he had started, or else fell asleep and later died.
An investigation of the house showed that a large amount of whiskey had been drunk, and that a half gallon fruit jar was on the bed by his dead body.
It is with much regret that we chronicle a death from such a cause.

Mr. Beadle was probably 70 years old.
