Melvin Roy McIntyre was born July 28, 1920 in Erick, Oklahoma to Lillie and William Horace McIntyre and passed away August 26, 1993 in his home at the age of 73 years and 28 days.
He married Selma Pope on January 13, 1940 in Sayre, Oklahoma.
They moved to Silverton, Texas before moving to California. In 1942 they moved to Erick, Oklahoma and then to Hydro, Oklahoma for a short time before moving to Sweetwater in 1961 to make their home.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three sons; one brother; one sister; and two grandchildren.
He is survived by one daughter and son in law, Sharon and Rodney Smith of Sayre; two sisters, Pauline Hooper of Springtown, Texas; and Betty Jefferson of Erick; two brothers, Alvin McIntyre of Delhi, Oklahoma; and William McIntyre of Amarillo, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 1993 at the Rose chapel officiated by Tom Cooksey.
Interment will be in the Brookside Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service, Sayre.
