Joice M. Thetford was born April 11, 1933 in Erick, Oklahoma to Myrtle and C. W. Thetford.
He passed away April 25, 2009 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years and 14 days.
Joice grew up east of Berlin.
He was married to Lawanda Drew at Sayre, Oklahoma on January 21, 1955.
After their marriage they resided east of Berlin until Joice was drafted into the United States Army. He served his country in the Korean conflict.
After his discharge in 1958, he returned and started his soil conservation business and continued to operate the business until present. Joice enjoyed working and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife, Lawanda of the home; one son, Terry Thetford of Elk City, Oklahoma; one brother, Truman Thetford of Sayre, Oklahoma and a host of other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service.
