William Lester Shirley

William Lester Shirley, Route 3, Sayre died in Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Friday following an extended illness.
Services were held Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the Berlin school auditorium with Rev. Elbert Johnson officiating.
Born October 9, 1898 in Missouri, Mr. Shirley moved as a child with his parents to the Berlin community in 1907 and has been a resident there since.
He was married May 18, 1927 to Louise Hester in Shawnee.
He has been a member of the Methodist church 33 years and is a member of the Sayre Masonic lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons.
Survivors are his wife of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Mark Wells of Pasadena, California; Mrs. John Kos of Norwalk, California; one son, David of Borger, Texas; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Brewer of Elk City and Mrs. Frank Carmichael of Sayre; as well as other relatives and friends.
Interment will be in the Berlin cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral service.
