Helen Doris Bashaw Moore

Helen Doris Bashaw was born May 8, 1929 in Altus, Oklahoma to Florence Rose and Henry Bashaw. She passed away September 9, 2012 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years, 4 months and 1 day.
She attended school at Doxey and Merritt before graduating from Delhi High School.
She was married to Glenn T. Moore at Wheeler, Texas on June 18, 1949 and they made their home in the Berlin, Oklahoma community.
She mainly helped Glenn on the farm and with the dairy operation. She was an excellent cook and shared her talents cooking at K-Mart, Hardees, Great Plains Regional Medical Center and Hutch's Convenience store until retiring.
Helen loved working on the farm, tending the animals and taking care of her garden. She was especially proud of her "Maters and Okra".
She enjoyed sewing and riding horses and was active in the Berlin Saddle Club where she had served as secretary and kept the books.
Helen's greatest love was spending time with and caring for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Glenn Donald Moore; two sisters, Dollie Woodward and Sarah Madden; seven brothers, Billy, Henry C., Ted, Forrest, Jack, Merle and Berle Bashaw.
She is survived by her husband, Glenn T. Moore of the home; one daughter, La Donna Ackley and husband James of Sayre, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Jodie Santangelo of Sayre, Oklahoma; Kristy Robinson of Sayre, Oklahoma; and Kelsey Wynn and husband, Ryan of Sayre, Oklahoma; six great grandchildren, Houston LeCrone, Miranda Brinkley, Sheridan Santangelo, Stephanie Robinson, Matthew Wynn and Sarah Wynn; many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held September 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Chapel officiated by Andy Taylor.
Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
