Ruby Irene Bales Hartman Burkhalter

Ruby Irene Bales was born September 18, 1905 in Berlin, Oklahoma Territory to Katie and Henry G. Bales and passed away May 31, 1998 in the Hensley Nursing Home at the age of 92 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Ruby grew up in the Berlin community where she met Arthur Hartman and they were married April 16, 1932 in Cheyenne, Oklahoma. They made their home on the farm five miles south of Berlin.
Arthur passed away in 1957 and she remained on the farm until April of 1963 when she married Frank Burkhalter in Erick. They moved to Sayre and she has lived there since that time.
She was a member of the Church of Christ for over 70 years.
Her parents; both husbands; one infant daughter, Mayrene; three sisters; and two brothers preceded her in death.
She is survived by one daughter, Claribel Thurman of Edmond, Oklahoma; one son, Ralph Hartman and wife Nancy of Sayre; two stepdaughters, Ann Robinson and Judith Burkhalter, both of El Reno; one brother, Charles Bales of Sayre; seven grandchildren and their spouses; ten great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services were Tuesday, June 2, at the Sayre Church of Christ officiated by Scott Bulmer and assisted by Tim Hartman, Jerry Hartman, Doug Hartman and Dr. Carl Duncan.
Interment was in the Berlin Cemetery under the Direction of Rose Chapel funeral service.
