Myrtle Campbell was born March 10, 1920 in Greer County, Oklahoma to Nora and D. C. Seals. She passed away September 2, 2014 at Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years, five months and twenty-two days.
Myrtle attended school at Willow, Oklahoma before moving with her family to the Berlin community.
She was married to John Campbell on March 13, 1937 and they made their home south of Berlin.
Myrtle loved working with her hands and spent many hours quilting, crocheting, sewing and doing ceramics as well as working in her garden and canning and cooking for her family. She enjoyed tending to her chickens and helping with the cattle.
She was very active in her community and was a member of the Berlin Quilting Club, the Saddle Club and the Home Demonstration Club and served for many years as a Board Member of the Berlin Community Building.
She attended the Berlin Baptist Church and Berlin Methodist Church until they were closed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, J.C. and Jack Seals and a sister, Margaret Dunlap.
She is survived by her children, Charles Campbell and wife, Anna Mae of Sayre, Oklahoma and Vicki Brown and husband, Butch of OrangeTexas; four grandchildren, Carrie Campbell of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Carl Don Campbell and wife, Susie of Sayre, Oklahoma; Charles Brown of Orange, Texas; and John Brown of Houston, Texas; four great grandchildren, Mallory Henson and husband, Jeremy of Sweetwater, Oklahoma; Gregory Brown of Orange, Texas; Elizabeth Harmony and husband, Nathan of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and Carla Pearson and husband, Clayton of Midland, Texas; two great great grandchildren, Alyson and Kaylee Harmony; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held September 6, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Chapel officiated by Mike Abel.
Burial will be at Berlin Cemetery under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service.
