Lera Belle Shirley Brewer

Lera Belle Shirley Brewer was born on December 16, 1895 in Missouri and passed away on January 12, 1989 in the Grand Place Nursing Center in Sayre, Oklahoma at the age of 94 years and 27 days.
Lera, the daughter of John William and Mattie Lou Shirley, came with her parents to the Berlin community in 1907.
On October 11, 1919 she married William Frank Brewer in Cheyenne, Oklahoma and they lived in several Oklahoma communities while Frank taught school.
After his retirement they moved from the farm in Berlin to Elk City in 1964. In October of 1985 she moved to Grand Place Nursing Center.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elk City for a number of years.
Lera was preceeded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother and a sister.
She is survived by a daughter, Mattie Bess Brewer of Sayre, Oklahoma; three nieces, Velma Shirley of Sayre, Oklahoma; Dorothy Clemer of Whittier, California; Marjorie Wells of Salem, Oregon; a sister-in-law, Jo Shirley of Whittier, California; several great nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service were Friday, January 13, 1989 at 2:30 p.m. at the Berlin Methodist Church with Frank Mitchel officiating.
Burial was in the Berlin Cemetery, Berlin, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma under the direction of Rose Chapel Funeral Service of Sayre.
