Cathy Ann Awbrey was born February 16, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Allie Odessa (Ashworth) and Leonard O'Neal Brewton. She passed away May 14, 2018 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 67 years, 2 months and 28 days. 
 

Cathy grew up in the Houston, Texas area where she graduated from Jones High School in 1970. After graduation she remained in Houston where she worked for an insurance agency and was married to Stephen Richard Awbrey on August 6, 1971. They made their home there until 1983 when they moved to Shamrock where she was a homemaker and later worked in the offices of the Shamrock Church of Christ. In 1993 Cathy and Stephen moved to Elk City where she worked as a chiropractic assistant for Park Chiropractic. She remained with Park Chiropractic until 1997 when she retired. Cathy worked with her daughter in her day care after her retirement and also enjoyed cooking, crafts, shopping, decorating her and her family's homes and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Cathy was a member of the 2nd and Adams Church of Christ and enjoyed the countless hours of fellowship with her church family.
 

She is preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Stephen, of the home; 3 children, Stacy Bird and husband, Chad, New Braunfels, Texas, Shannon Musick and husband, Michael, Elk City, OK and Stephanie Carnes and husband, Rob, Merritt, OK; 11 grandchildren, Shelbi Nickerson, Colton Nickerson and wife, Kelsey, Courtland Awbrey, Haleigh Musick, Drake, Kate and Emma Carnes, Nicholas and Aaron Musick, Auriana and Luke Bird; 6 great grandchildren, Matthew, Taylor, Ryder and Holly Musick, Colt and Bowen Nickerson; 1 brother, Ricky Brewton and wife, Rita, Katy, TX; 1 sister, Susan Smith, Katy, TX; her mother and father-in-law, Bob and Robbie Awbrey; 2 brother's-in-law, 3 sister's-in-law and many beloved nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
