Mary McQuigg Ellis

Mary McQuigg Ellis was born at Bowie, Texas November 17, 1877 to Henry and Sarah McQuigg.
She accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Presbyterian Church 75 years ago.
She came to Oklahoma with her family and good friend, Mae Dunn Thomas. The 21 year old girls drove a buggy from Bowie, Texas to a place north of Crawford where they filed on homesteads.
She was united in marriage to Ansley Ellis January 19, 1908, at Grand, Oklahoma. To this union four children were born.
They moved from their farm to Cheyenne in 1963.
She passed from his life July 2, 1973 at the Roger Mills Memorial Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, John Ray Ellis.
She leaves to mourn her passing two daughters, Juanita Rogers of Borger, Texas; Lucille Cecil of Durham; and one son, Russell Ellis of Cheyenne; also eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
Services were July 25, 1973 at the Baptist Church with Rev. A. L. Martin and Rev. Fred Fudge, officiating.
Pallbearers were Jim Brown, J. B. Eakins, Donnie Chappell, Eb Bradshaw, Bruce Thomas and Johnnie Keahey.
Interment at the Bellview Cemetery, Roger Mills County, Oklahoma with Scroggins asnd Son in charge of arrangement.
