Vera Mae Ward went to be with her Lord on the morning of July 20, 2020 in Miller, Oklahoma.

She was born on July 12, 1940 in Jumbo, Oklahoma to Henry Smith and Ruby (Gregg) Smith. She had lived in Southeast Oklahoma all her life. When Vera wasn't keeping her hands busy with embroidery or cooking, she loved to read. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Vera is preceded in death by her husband: David Ward; parents: Henry and Ruby Smith; brothers: Jim Smith, TJ Smith, as well as infant twin brothers; and sisters: Clara Sue Pound and Eva Lou Smith.

She is survived by her daughter: Starla Stutzman and husband Dano of Miller, Oklahoma; brother: Donnie Smith of Jumbo, Oklahoma; grandchildren: Stephen Page and Jessie of Jumbo, Oklahoma, Shane Page of Miller, Oklahoma, and Sheldon Page and Brittany of Moyers, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren: Tyler Horn and Karley, Taylor Mayo and Cory, Sadie Barrera and Martin, CJ Stutzman, Montage Page Davis, Hunter Page, Dalton Page, Ivey Page, Kadance Page, Gunner Page, Kaylee Mae Page, Kynlee Brooks, Tabitha Hamilton, and Haylie Hamilton; as well as many great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Graveside services for Vera will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 10AM at Jumbo Cemetery. Pallbearers include: Andy Heath, Wade Thurman, Eric Leyba, Michael Brittingham, Bucket, and Jeff Rector, with honorary pallbearers Gerald Harper, Tommy Berkey, and Porky Smith. Services have been entrusted with Serenity Funeral Service.
