Funeral services for James Anderson Fergueson, fondly known as J. A., will be held on Friday, April 1, 2011, at 2:00 PM at the Hall Free Will Baptist Church, with Rev. Allen Moore officiating, and burial following in the Hall Cemetery.

 
J.A. passed away Monday, March 28, 2011, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, at the age of 94. J. A. was born May 15, 1916, in Olney, Texas, the son of Simon Y. and Ira Belle (Langston) Fergueson. J. A. married Velma Ella Ford on December 28, 1940, in Stephenville, Texas. He lived in this area since 1962, was a rancher, and raised dairy and beef cattle. J. A. also enjoyed hunting coyotes and wolves. He served his country as an artillary soldier in World War II, where he shot the big guns. He was a Free Will Baptist preacher and pastored the Mt. Zion, Pleasant View, Hall and the Free Will Baptist Church of Antlers.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Velma Ella (Ford) Fergueson; two brothers, Howard Fergueson and Lewis Fergueson.

J. A. is survived by three sons, Boyce Ralph Fergueson of Boswell, Oklahoma, Jimmy George Fergueson and wife Elaine of Boswell, Oklahoma, and Coy Milton Fergueson and wife Gracie of Boswell, Oklahoma; sisters, Fay Hubbard of Austin, Texas, and May Lowry of Abilene, Texas; grandchildren, Tonya Fergueson of Durant, Oklahoma, Amy Fergueson of Moore, Oklahoma, Shawn Strachan and husband James of Missouri City, Texas, Adam Fergueson of Moore, Oklahoma, Carol Ferguseon of Moore, Oklahoma, Angela Fernandez and husband Jimmy of Durant, Oklahoma, Destiny Darbison and husband Kris of Ada, Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Chandler, Parker and Carter Fernandez all of Durant, Oklahoma, Jordan and Ali Darbison both of Ada, Oklahoma and J. D. and Lexi Strachan both of Missouri City, Texas.
