Dovie Lois (Shilling) Underwood of Finley, Oklahoma passed from this life on March 13th, 2018 in Antlers at the age of 89 years.

She was born July 18, 1928 in Finley, Oklahoma to William and Mary Shilling. Dovie married her beloved husband, John Underwood on May 20, 1955 in San Diego, California. She loved spending time with her family. Dovie was a member of Finley Baptist Church. Her favorite hobbies were reading western books, and going to flea markets.

Dovie was preceded in death by her father, William Shilling, mother, Mary Jane Shilling, sisters, Zelma Smith, Rose Page, Lula Summers, Wilma Matthews, brothers, Bo Shilling, Vincent Shilling, Byron Shilling, and son James Underwood.

She leaves behind a loving family that includes her husband, John Underwood of the home, a daughter, Ellen Meshaya and husband Preston of Finley, daughter-in-law, Linda Calton, of Utah; grandchildren, Johnny Spurlock, Shane Meshaya, Codie Birdsong, Danny Underwood; great grandchildren, Morgan Spurlock, Gabriela Birdsong, Ethan Birdsong, Cate Underwood, and Ashlyn Underwood, as well as nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Pallbearers include Johnny Spurlock, Steve Painter, Stanley James Dunlap, Mark Routon, Doc Darst, and Bear Johnson.

Family Night will be held from 6-8 pm Friday, March 16, 2018 at Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers.

Funeral Services will be held 10 am Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Finley Baptist Church with Shane Meshaya officiating.

Interment will follow at the Finley Cemetery under the direction of Burkhart Funeral Service of Antlers.
