Glenda Gail "GG" (Smith) Atchley

Glenda Gail “G.G.” Atchley was born on September 12, 1940 to Buster and Minnie (Pool) Smith in Antlers, OK. She passed from this life on March 6, 2008 in McAlester, OK at 67 years of age. 

During her working years, G.G. had been employed by the newspaper in Levelland, TX. After that she worked for and published her column “Gail’s Graffiti” in the newspaper in Brownfield, TX. She was also a Drug and Alcohol Counselor for the Texas Department of Corrections. She was of the Baptist faith and had resided in Lamesa, TX for the past 17 years. She loved and cared for all animals. 

G.G. was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers: Granvell Gene Dunham, Jack Smith, Harvey Smith, and Truman Joe Smith. 

She is survived by her children: Dennis Atchley and wife, Bettie, of Magnolia, TX, Destri Atchley and wife, Tracy, of Abilene, TX; sisters: Pam Smith of Antlers, OK, and Ruby Wren of Snow, OK; six grandchildren: Chris Atchley of Weatherford, TX, Justin Atchley of Canyon, TX, D.J., Summer, and Hunter Atchley of Abilene, TX, and Lydia Gooding of SC; one great grandchild: Keegan Atchley of Weatherford, TX; and a dear friend: Charles Horsley of Lamesa, TX; as well as many other relatives and friends.
