John Loyes Hackett

John Loyes Hackett, 95, passed away at his home in Tecumseh, Tuesday May 12, 2026.

John was born on October 15, 1930, in Trousdale, Oklahoma to William and Ola Hackett (McDonald).

He spent most of his life in Tecumseh. He was a heavy equipment operator, and owned Hackett Dozer Service for 65 years.

John is survived by his daughter Sheila Walker, grandchildren, Felicia Brown and husband Jon, Dusty Walker and wife Megan and Cheyenne Walker. Great grandchildren, Derek Brown and wife LaTara, Garrett Brown and wife Erin, Zack and Zoie Coleman-Walker and Lane Walker. Great-great grandson Rhyett Brown. He is also survived by the second love of his life, Juanita Ong. Two sisters, Ruth Ann Hassen-Autaubo and husband Presley and Mildred Hohmann-Metcalf.

John was preceded in death by his wife Margie, daughter Nancy Walker and husband Lloyd. Son-in-law Steve Walker, grandson, John Walker, four brothers, Pat, Lloyd, Bill and Tommy and three sisters, Allie, Beulah and Shirley.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 14, 2026, and continue through service time with family gathering from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to greet friends and family at Cooper Funeral Home. Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2026, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with grandson, Dusty Walker and Brandon Johnson, Mission Road Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
