Robert R. “Bub” Hurst was taken home by his Lord on Thursday, December 29, 2016.

He was called Bub by his family and friends. He was born on August 28, 1942 to Reverend L.R. and Flora Hurst in King City, California until the age of six and then moved to Tecumseh.

He married Carol McInturff on September 13, 1961 in Tecumseh, OK and resided there until 1986 then relocated to Oklahoma City.

Robert owned and operated a wrecker service, gravel company and drove a truck during his lifetime.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Edward Hurst.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Hurst of Oklahoma City; 2 children, Robert Bryan Hurst, Norman, OK and Brenda Croteau of Oklahoma City; 5 grandchildren, April Blum of Edmond, OK, Ashley Hurst of Oklahoma City, Chelsey Croteau of Oklahoma City, Haley and Emily Hurst of Norman, OK; 4 great-grandchildren, Madelynn Smith of Edmond, OK, Caleb Brewer of Oklahoma City and Bayleigh and Brenleigh Pollard of Oklahoma City; 2 brothers, Lonnie Hurst of Tecumseh, OK and Ronnie Hurst of Eufaula, OK; 2 sisters, Shirley Scott of Tecumseh, OK and Judy Smith of Tecumseh, OK; and other extended family and friends.

He will truly be missed but he is finally home with his Lord after a long illness of heart problems.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Tuesday, January 3, 2017. Graveside Services will be held 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Tecumseh Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Milligan, Living Faith Church in Moore officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
