Virginia Lee Houston, age 70, of Tecumseh, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 in Oklahoma City.

She was born March 20, 1947 to Walter and Eula Bell (Cowen) Jones in Drumright, Oklahoma. Virginia was raised in Drumright, then moving to Cushing. She moved to Tecumseh in 1995 and has resided there since.

Virginia married Gary Houston on May 12, 1964 in Paola, Kansas.

She worked at Atwoods for 17 years and retired 4 years ago.

Virginia enjoyed sewing, fishing and cooking. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Johnny Jones.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Gary, of the home; daughters, Rhonda and Gary McKee of Ponca City and LeeAnn Houston of Tecumseh; sons, Gary Houston, Jr. of Stillwater and Billy and Armanda Houston of Tecumseh; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and one on the way; sisters, Helen Rich and Mary Milsap-McConnell; brother Rodger Jones; and numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will begin 12:00 Noon on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 and continue through service time. Services will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Larry Townsend officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
