Thomas Foy “Tom” Edwards, 82, of El Reno, Oklahoma passed from this life Monday, May 14, 2018 in El Reno.
He was born December 19, 1935 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Foy and Grace Edwards.
Tom was a 1953 graduate of Tecumseh High School. He lived in many places, including Chicago, and has been a resident of El Reno for the past 43 years.
He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with the Military Police and was honorably discharged.
Tom married Johanna Seelig, his wife of 61 years, in 1957 in Germany.
Tom worked as a Special Agent for the Rock Island Railroad for 25 years and retired in 1984. He worked for Phillips Petroleum and later owned and operated a landscaping business.
He was a 32nd degree Master Mason, Honorary Texas Ranger and tied the Texas Ranger hand gun record as a marksman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son-in-law, and granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife, Johanna Edwards of the home; daughter, Anne Babb of Oklahoma City, OK; 2 sons, Cliff Edwards of Dallas, TX and David Edwards of Austin, TX; 16 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and his extended family in Germany. He was loved and admired as an exemplary husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be deeply missed.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 18, 2018 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kay Nix officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
