Onalee (Kerley) Cearley, 95, of Moore, Oklahoma former Tecumseh resident entered Heaven on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2:57 p.m.

Onalee was born on July 22, 1923 in Oilton, Oklahoma to Charlie and Cordie Kerley. She was the last grandchild delivered by her granddad Dr. James Newton Kerley. Onalee attended school at Gypsy south of Bristow. She played basketball thru the 8th grade. She went blind in the 8th grade and wasn’t able to return to school.

She married James Cearley on September 13, 1943 in Bristow, Oklahoma while he was home on leave from WWII. They were stationed in San Diego, California and Norfolk, Virginia. They made their home in Bristow until James entered the ministry. She was a dedicated minister’s wife for over 40 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend James Cearley on September 19, 1996; son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Beverly Cearley; her parents; 2 brothers, Jack and C.N. Kerley; and 3 sisters, Helen MacArthur, Juanita Dobson and Betty McClendon.

Those left to cherish her memory are 1 son and 1 daughter-in-law, Bobby and Teressa Cearley of Moore, OK; 2 granddaughters, Carla Cearley of Tecumseh, OK and Desiree Cearley of Moore, OK; 2 great-grandson, Blake and Kristen Stephens of Moore, OK and Brant Cearley of Moore, OK; 1 great-great granddaughter, Lilah Stephens; one special and dear close friend who was considered a daughter, Jona Lackey and husband Abel of Shawnee, OK; 1 brother, Pat Kerley of Ardmore, OK; 2 sisters, Edna Edsall of Arab, AL and Georgia Ann and Dale Stone of Anadarko, OK; 34 nieces and nephews; and many loving friends and extended family. The family has designated Randall University, formerly Hillsdale Free Will Baptist College, 3701 South I-35 Service Road, Moore, and OK 73160 as appropriate for memorials in lieu of flowers.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 8, 2019 and continue through service time. Family gathering will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to greet friends and family at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Fred Owens, Tecumseh Pentecostal Church of God and Dr. Tim Eaton, President of Randall University officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
