BEVERLY JEAN CEARLEY

November 18, 1947 - July 20, 2018

On Friday morning, July 20, 2018, Beverly Jean (Haley) Cearley passed away from this life to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 70.

Beverly Jean Cearley was born November 17, 1947, to Carl Edwin and Thelma Irene Haley. She was a graduate of Shawnee High School, class of 1966. She worked for Hamburger King from 1963-1966, before going to work for Pratt Foods on E. Main in Shawnee, Oklahoma, for the next 34 1/2 years.

In 1967, she and her 1967 GTO caught the eye of Jimmy Cearley. They were married on June 22, 1967. After retiring from Pratt’s, she went back to Hamburger King on a part-time basis for the next 12 years before retiring for good to spend time with family and travel.

Beverly loved the road trips she took with Jimmy and their daughter Carla to Branson, MO, Galveston, TX, and Memphis and Nashville, TN. She also loved the extended family vacations taken to various states driving in a caravan of recreational vehicles. It didn’t matter where the road led; she was up for the challenge.

But, nothing excited her more than the Christmas season. She loved everything about Christmas, from the lights and decorations to the Gingerbread houses. But most of all, she loved the true meaning of Christmas, celebrating Christ’s birth.

She was preceded in death by her father, Carl Haley, mother Irene Haley, and husband Jimmy Lee Cearley.

She is survived by her wonderful daughter and care giver, Carla Cearley, sister, Marsha Brown and brother-in-law, Benny, Brother Victor Haley and sister-in-law Cecyle.

Niece/Daughter, Carlene Smith and husband Dan Smith, great nephews, Trevor and Ty. Nephew Keith Brown and wife Stacy, great niece, Elizabeth Dean and husband Josh, great, great nephew, Cooper, great nephew, Jared. Cousin, Teresa Williams, Uncle, Bud Hunt, cousins Bud Hunt Jr. and wife Michelle, Charles Hunt, Jerry Zimmerman and wife Gail. Brother-in-law Bobby Cearley and wife Teressa and mother-in-law, Onalee Cearley. Close friend/wonderful boss, Colleen Mascas. Close friend, Kathy Schoemann and close friend Brad Trice. Special thanks to Sharon Baptist Church.

Beverly wanted to say “Thank You” to the staff at the SSM Health Cancer Center including: Dr. Toma, Amber, Sue, Jacklyn, Dawn, Debbie, and Cindy. Her primary care physician, Dr. Mark Davis; and all the staff at Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice. A special shout out to RN Elizabeth Barnett for going above and beyond. Pallbearers will be Dan Smith, Jeff Haley, Brad Trice, Aaron Bounds, Jerry Zimmerman, and Sammy Navin.

Matthew 21:22 KJV: “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.”

Visitation will be Monday, July 23, 2018, from 12:00 pm to 8 pm, with the family gathering from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Cooper Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at 2:00 pm at Cooper Funeral Home in Tecumseh, OK, with Reverend Clint Dawkins of Sharon Baptist Church officiating, followed by burial in Tecumseh Cemetery.

As a special tribute and send off to her mom, Carla has asked those attending the service to wear either pink or blue, Beverly’s favorite colors.
