Sheila D. Moudy, 76, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Friday, January 1, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

She was born February 11, 1944 in Los Angeles, California to Stanley and Nina (Hook) Cox.

Sheila was raised in California where she attended Catholic school.

Sheila married James E. Moudy on February 11, 1984 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma at the Highland Church of Christ. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2020.

While living in Checotah she worked at the Muskogee and Checotah Wal-Marts. She worked in the food service industry in her younger years as a waitress and school cook.

Sheila was a member of the Highland Church of Christ in Tecumseh, a lifetime member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and served on the Election Board in Macintosh County.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Moudy; parents, Stanley and Nina Cox; and 2 sons-in-law, Larry Thornton and Dewey M. Phillips.

Those left to cherish her memory are 2 daughters and 1 son-in-law, Pam and Steve Henderson of Bethel Acres, OK and Dianne Thornton of Tecumseh, OK; 1 Son and 1 daughter-n-law, Barney and Sherry Moudy of Tecumseh, OK; 7 grandchildren, Justin Phillips, Maegan Phillips, Jessica Thornton, Kayla Moudy, Sean Thornton, Lisa Moudy and James “JR” Moudy; 1 great-granddaughter, Aubree Williams; and many loving friends and extended family.

The family has designated the Alzheimer’s Association, Oklahoma Chapter, 6601 Broadway Ext., Suite 120, Oklahoma City, OK 73116 as appropriate for memorials.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 8, 2021 Cooper Funeral Home. Services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Erick Henson, Tecumseh Highland Church of Christ officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker, OK at a later date.
