Clarence Auston "C.A." Kidney, Sr.

Clarence Auston Kidney, Sr. (C.A.) (Pop), age 85, of Tecumseh passed away Friday March 12, 2021 in Noble, Oklahoma.

C.A. was born October 23, 1935 to Mark and Iva Mae (Crownover) Kidney in Tecumseh.

He married Edith Marie (Shelby) Kidney on October 20, 1956 in Shawnee, OK and remained married for 55 years.

C.A. was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and an avid family man.

Marie was a great cook and C.A. was a great eater. He was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend he never met a stranger.

In his younger days he served in the US Army for a short period of time.

He then went on working with seismograph crews all over hauling and playing with dynamite. Clarence then went on to drive a truck for Norman plumbing supply, milk producers, backing more miles than most have driven, then onto Safeway/Homeland where he retired and tended horses, cattle, pigs, quail, bird dogs and anything else that showed up.

C.A. loved to go dancing and listening to his friends sing some good ole country and gospel music. After Marie was called home C.A. started traveling around with a large group of friends to several music venues where he met Mary Lee Gish and cherished their friendship dearly for the past seven years.

C.A. was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Kidney; one daughter, Lawanna Joyce Kidney; his parents; and brother, Tandy.

He is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Pam Colley and Jenna and Danny Sterling all of Tecumseh; four sons and daughters-in-law, Teddy and Cheryl Kidney, Rocky and Joni Kidney, J.R. and Andrea Kidney all of Tecumseh and Eddie and Julie Kidney of Noble; sisters, Jean Hess, Wanda Craig, Shirley Craig and Fontella Williams; brothers, Billy Van and Margaret Kidney and Danny and Susan Kidney; several grandchildren; great grandchildren; and numerous loving family and friends.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday March 16, 2021 and the family will gather to meet Tuesday with friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
