As the world ushered in the New Year, January 1, 2017, heaven’s gates opened wide and received Earl Dean Harper. Earl Dean was born August 28, 1928 and lived a long and full life of 88 years, 4 months and 3 days.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Crownover Harper, of the home; three children and their spouses: James Earl Harper and wife, Jan; Kathy and husband, Mickey Myers; and Diana and husband Ron Kinnamon, all of Meeker. Dean was the head of a loving Christian family. He also leaves to carry on his legacy six grandchildren and their families: Melanie and Trampis Seaton and son, Austin; Jared and Nani Myers and daughter, Aleiah; David and Jessica Harper with children, Aaron and Haley; Daniel and Kathryn Harper and sons, Samuel, Caleb and Isaac; Joshua Kinnamon and son, Tyler; and Jeremy Kinnamon and Leslie Williamson and son, Gavin. Special remembrance for Rita Ballard and Rick Hill and the nurses from Loving Care Hospice, Amber, “The Jessies” and Nancy for the exceptional care they gave Dean these last months. He is also survived by many relatives and friends too numerous to mention.

Earl Dean Harper was born in Wellston, OK the youngest of five children, to Ida and Raymond Harper. His older siblings ST Harper, JW Harper, Gladys Spoon and Lilly Green were all waiting to receive him at heaven’s gate.

Dean retired from Tinker AFB in 1974 after 28 years of service. He was a member of Family of Faith Church. Dean loved to fish, tell stories and spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was married to Betty Crownover Harper for almost 68 years. His love, humor and adoration for Jesus and his family have touched many many lives.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 10:00 AM, at Family of Faith in Meeker with Dr. Sam Matthews officiating. Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
