WILLIAM JOHNSON WHITE
1923 - 2008


Shawnee resident William Johnson White, age 85, died early Saturday October 11, 2008.
He was born in Richmond, Texas on May 1, 1923, to his parents, Lewis William and Gussie M. Cresswell White.
He attended Arnett High School in western Oklahoma.
William proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
After serving his country, he married the love of his life, Anna Marie Moore on April 12, 1947, in Liberal, Kansas.
William was a member of the Wallace Avenue Baptist Church, enjoyed traveling, gardening, and was an accomplished artist.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Rogers S., Joseph B., Luther W., Grady L. and Homer H. White, as well as one sister, Lois I. Leikam.
William leaves many loving memories with his family, wife, Anna; sons, Luther W. White and wife, Frances; Stephen T. White and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Adam T. White, Mark T. White, Rachel M. Galvin, and Zaq W. White; brother, Lee Howard White; sister, Dr. Helen Sue Hathaway; and many other loving relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held 2:00 p. m. Monday at the Walker Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Larry Sparks officiating.
Interment followed at Tecumseh Cemetery with military honors.
