DAVID LEE WAKOLEE JR.
1951 - 2013


David Lee "Buddy" Wakolee, Jr., 61, of Shawnee, passed away Tuesday, March 26 at his residence.
David was born June 25, 1951 in San Bernardino, California, the son of David Wakolee and Mildred Little Creek Switch.
He attended Riverside Indian School in Anadarko, Oklahoma and worked in construction.
Buddy served in the United States Army as a Medic in Korea.
He was a member of the Native American Church, Kickapoo Chapter.
He enjoyed doing beadwork, attending Pow Wow's and watching sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his six children, Regina Wakolee of San Antonio, Texas, Crystal Wakolee of Topeka, Kansas, Bryan Wakolee of McLoud, Andrea Wakolee of McLoud,Brandon Wakolee of Shawnee and Christopher Wakolee of Henrietta, Oklahoma; two adopted sons, Michael Logan of NA and John Menor of California; eight grandchildren; ten siblings, Beverly Bemo of Shawnee, Rosemary Smith of Shawnee, Karin Wakolee of Shawnee, Frank Wakolee of Mesa, Arizona, Rowena Wakolee of Shawnee, Kathleen Logan of Shawnee, Jerry Wakolee of Shawnee, Garry Wakolee of Shawnee, Sam Martinez of Flagstaff, Arizona and Erica Martinez of McLoud; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Tribal Rites will be Thursday evening at the Katherine Walker home.
Burial will be Friday morning at Wakolee Cemetery.
