ALLEN WAYNE SPENCER
1957 - 2016


Allen Wayne Spencer, 59, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016 in Oklahoma City.
He was born June 1, 1957 to William Hampton and Pearl Beatrice Webb Spencer in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Allen was raised in Yukon, Oklahoma and attended Public Schools. He was a 1975 graduate of Yukon High School. He has lived in the Tecumseh/Shawnee area for the past 17 years.
He married Susan Thornton on September 27, 2003 in McLoud, Oklahoma.
Allen has worked at Tinker Air Force Base for the past 10 years. Before going to work at Tinker he worked as a truck driver.
He was a very devout Christian and loved the Lord. He served as Associate Pastor for many years and enjoyed pastoring the children’s church. Allen loved rodeos and in his younger years he was a Bull Rider.
He loved everything there was about airplanes, including working on them. Allen loved horses and his dog Jake.
Allen was a true patriot and loved working for and serving his country to the best of his abilities. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Pearl Spencer; sister, Johnnie Sue Spencer and brother, Melvin Hampton Spencer.
Those left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Susan Spencer of the home; two daughters and spouses, Tiffany and Justin Stone of Edmond, Oklahoma and Kacia and Chris Edison of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; granddaughter, Olivia Stone of Edmond, Oklahoma; two step-daughters and spouses, Rebecca and Adam Welliver of Shawnee, Oklahoma and Virginia and Billy Roberson of Shawnee, Oklahoma; step-son, Bobby James of Norman, Oklahoma; step-grandchildren, Harlee, Courtney, Hope, Madison, Jeff and Hunter; five brothers, Doug Spencer, Eddie Spencer, Raymond Spencer, Joseph Spencer and Larry Soper; and other extended family and friends.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 17, 2016 and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 18, 2016 and continue through service time. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Sparks, Blackburn Chapel Baptist Church officiating.
Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
