RUTH ELIZABETH KIEFFER
1911 - 2004


Tecumseh resident Ruth Elizabeth James Kieffer, 93, died Tuesday, November 2, at her home.
Mrs. Kieffer was born January 21, 1911, in southeast Tecumseh to David Daniel and Dora Tilden McAdams James.
She lived in Tecumseh all her life and attended Meadow View and Ruggles schools.
She was married June 3, 1933, in Tecumseh to Lester Boone Kieffer.
She was a homemaker. She also was a member of the First Church of God in Tecumseh for more than 50 years. She was active in her church as a Sunday school teacher, member of the choir, member of the church quartet and served as church pianist for a number of years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; son, James; her parents; two infant sisters, Amy and Eva James; five sisters and brothers-in-law, sons-in-law, Floyd Forrester and Bill Latham; and three brothers and sisters-in-law.
Survivors include four daughters and three sons-in-law, Irene Latham of Fort Lupton, Colorado; Colleen and Keith Stover, Patsy and Otho Montgomery and Charlotte and John Harrison, all of Tecumseh; two sons and daughters-in-law, Floyd and Anona Kieffer of Shawnee; and Gary and Beverly Kieffer of Jenks; sister, Lula Grove of Gainesville, Texas; three sisters-in-law, Dollie James of Nashville, Tennessee; Lena Tomlinson of Overgard, Arizona; and Flora Faulkner of Ada; two brothers-in-law and spouses, Jack and Edna Kieffer of Tecumseh; and Franz and Lee Kieffer of Yukon; twelve granddaughters; eight grandsons; twenty nine great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Service will be 2:00 p.m. today at First Church of God in Tecumseh with the Rev. Todd Tiffin officiating.
Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.
Cooper Funeral Home is directing arrangements.
