CLAYTIS ALLEN JONES JR.
1938 - 2008


MAUD, Oklahoma - Claytis Allen "C. A." Jones, Jr. 70-year-old Maud, Oklahoma resident passed from this life after a year-long battle with cancer on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at his home in Maud surrounded by his loving family.
He was born October 28, 1938 in Chalk, Texas to parents Claytis Allen Jones Sr. and Donnie Louella Davis Jones.
Mr. Jones served in the U. S. Navy where he was a machinist mate third class, serving from 1956 to 1959.
C. A. married Bettye Jean Cook on January 3, 1968 in Sherman. She preceded him in death on July 29, 2007.
Mr. Jones has lived in Maud for the past twenty three years moving from Southmayd, where he was a member of the Southmayd Baptist Church.
He worked for Hayes Axle, Quality Trailer Supply and retired in 2000 as a horse trailer salesman for Redneck Trailer Supply to care for his wife.
Survivors include his loving family: two sons and daughters-in-law, Claytis "Allen" Jones III and wife Jennita of Pottsboro; and "Randy" Scott Jones and wife Trish of Sherman; one daughter and son-in-law, Casaundra Coradell "Casey" Garren and husband Larry of Maud, Oklahoma; one brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Tina Jones of Sherman; two sisters, Dorothy Kirby of Howe; and Bernice Williams of Sherman; four grandchildren, Jessica and husband Micah Ledbetter of Whitesboro; Josh Jones of Gunter; Kaley and husband Robert Rodriguez of Maud, Oklahoma; and Jordy Garren of Maud, Oklahoma; two sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Alice and Woodie Simmons of Kemp; and Mrs. Billie Brown of Grand Prairie; also surviving is a special friend Phyllis Knight of Bennington, Oklahoma; and a host of other dear family and friends.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sisters, Johnnie Bernita Jones in 1935 and Georgia Bledsoe in 1984.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 6, 2008 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Maud, Oklahoma.
Chaplain Donnie Knight and Rev. Carl Whitfield will officiate the service.
Interment will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, Oklahoma with military honors.
Services are under the direction of Knight-Swearingen Funeral Home in Maud, Oklahoma.
