JOANN DOLORES FUNK
1943 - 2016


Joann Dolores True Funk was born on May 6, 1943, in Dowagiac, Michigan, and departed this life on March 17, 2016, in Prague, Oklahoma, at the age of 72.
Joann, the daughter of Ralph and Annabelle Goodman True, was a resident of Howard, Kansas.
She graduated from high school and then attended beauty school.
She married Clois Tel McCormick and they remained married until his death in 1988. She later married Leonard Haskell Funk, Sr. and they remained married until his death October 28, 2015.
Joann worked as a certified nurse’s assistant, school bus driver and in road construction.
She enjoyed fishing, hunting mushrooms, antiques, crocheting, gardening and doing word searches.
Joann’s parents, two husbands, seven brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Joann is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Troy and Lynn McCormick of Anthon, Iowa, Leonard and Melissa Funk, Jr. of Decatur, Arkansas and Charles Funk of Fredonia, Kansas, daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Ann and Chris Terrell of Prague, Wenona Lynn and Kevin Freeman of Sedan, Kansas, Brenda Lee and Danny Miles of Oak View, California and Sara and Chris Edwards of Olympia, Washington, forty one grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; brother, Terry True of Michigan; sisters, Betty Yoder of Michigan, June Parker of Michigan and Pat Jurden of California; and other numerous family and friends.
The Funk family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Garden Grove Baptist Church in Garden Grove with Charlie Clem officiating.
Interment will follow at Garden Grove Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home.
