LEVI F. CARTER COODY
1936 - 2007


Meeker resident Levi F. Carter Coody, 70, passed away Thursday, January 11, after battling lung cancer for six years.
He was born April 11, 1936, in Shawnee to Della Carter and Roger Coody.
Levi was 17 years of age when he joined the U. S. Marine Corps on Aug 11, 1953, as part of the 1st Marine Division Guadalcanal. He received an honorable discharge August 10, 1956.
He was married to Eva Leflore for six years.
Levi had worked in the cleaning industry and the heat/air conditioning business for 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Justine Libby Whitebead.
Survivors include his sister, Joyce and her husband, Paul D. Wolf of Meeker; nieces, Ramona Rico and Renee Tsoodle both of Oklahoma City; Denise Whitebead of Hinton; and Christina Littlehead of Shawnee; nephews, Eugene Harjo of North Dakota; Sammy Whitebead of Calumet; Joe Whitebead of Hinton; and David Littlehead of Shawnee; step-grandchildren, Keenetha, Marcie, Frances, and Rusty; numerous great-nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m to 10:00 p.m. Sunday at the Wolf resident one mile east of Nagawee Church. For more information call 275-1711.
Wake Service will be 7:00 p.m. Monday at Nagawee Methodist Church on Moccasin Trail.
Service will be 8:00 a.m. Tuesday at Nagawee Methodist Church with the Rev. Eugene Harjo and the Rev. Paul D. Wolf officiating.
Burial will be 10:00 a.m. at the Wakolee Cemetery, two miles east on Moccasin Trail, then three-quarters mile south on Brangus Rd., Shawnee.
Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service.
