BETTY JEAN COBB
1931 - 2015


Betty Jean Jarnigan Cobb died January 28, 2015 in Purcell at the age of 83 years, 10 months and 23 days.
Betty was born March 5, 1931 in Caney, Oklahoma to J. W. and Lillian Stewart Jarnigan.
She was raised and attended school in Caney before the family moved to California. They later moved back to Oklahoma.
She married David L. Cobb on February 3, 1948 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
Betty and David made their home in the Wanette area. She enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, sewing, crochet and camping. She loved teaching her children and grandchildren how to cook. Betty also enjoyed any arts and crafts, collecting dolls and hummingbirds.
Her favorite past time was shopping, especially going to Wal-Mart. She never left there without seeing and visiting with her friends.
Betty and David had been married 55 years when David passed in 2003.
She loved her Chihuahua "Tinkerbell" who became her baby after David passed.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, J. W. and Lilliam Jarnigan; husband, David Cobb; granddaughter, Tamarra; great granddaughter, Michaela; and four siblings.
Survivors include her son, Carl Cobb and wife, Sharon of Wanette; daughters, Wanda Smith and husband, Eddie of Yukon; Linda Edens and husband, George of Wanette; grandchildren, Melissa, Robert, Sean, Jennifer, Todd, Stephanie, Ashley; fourteen great grandchildren; siblings, Ruth, Julie, Rodney; her baby, Tinkerbell and numerous other relatives and friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Wadley's Funeral Chapel.
Interment will follow at Wanette Cemetery under the care of Wadley's Funeral Service.
