Gayle was born in Ponca City, Okla., attended Beaver High School and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist University with her teaching degree. While there, she met and married Eddie Hurt III in 1961. They moved to Riverside, Calif., where Gayle had an incredible career as teacher. During this time she received her Master's degree. She was also an integral part of her church as organist, pianist and Sunday school teacher. Eddie and Gayle lived in Riverside 45 years then moved back to Shawnee. They spent six years here until Eddie passed and she moved back with her daughters to Riverside. Gayle is survived by her three daughters, son-in-law, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
