Zelma Cleo Wyley McAllister

Zelma Cleo (Mema) McAllister, 82, of Choctaw, OK suddenly passed away November 24, 2009 with her daughter Hermenia (Ann) at her side. She was born August 7, 1927 in Quinton, OK. Cleo was the 9th child out of 11, born to Ed and Mattie (Folsom) Wyley. After her parents passed when she was only a child, her sisters and brothers cared for her as well as a loving and passionate schoolteacher Cleo had as a child. Cleo was a homemaker until her children were grown, after which she pursued a career as a medical technician for the State of OK until her retirement. She enjoyed working outdoors in the garden, and working with horses as a member of the Choctaw Roundup Club. She was a member of the Altar Church where she had a loving Christian family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Wm. (Bill) Travis McAllister, infant daughter, Louise McAllister, 4 brothers: Clarence, twins Gene and Calvin Lee, and Otis Wyley, 5 sisters: Arizona Whitlock, Evelyn Ray, Elva Herron, Virginia Goat and Mabel Pendergraft.

She is survived by her children: Hermenia (Ann) McAllister of Choctaw, OK, Carlotta C. McAllister of McLoud, OK, and Wendell McAllister of Choctaw, OK, sister: Dorothy Howell of Folsom, CA, sister-in-law: Virginia Burk of Newcastle, OK, 8 grandchildren: Darrin Cleveland, Derrick Cleveland, Jay Murphy, Heather Calton, Tara Watkins, Travis Calton, Amy McAllister and Staci McAllister, 16 great grandchildren: Jesse Cleveland, Kara Cleveland, Laurel Cleveland, Sheridan Murphy, Jordan Murphy, Ryland Murphy, Kristen Calton, Brooke Calton, Jacob Jerome, Jackson Watkins, Luke Watkins, Hunter Aguilar, twins Reece and Riley Aguilar, Alexis McAllister, Colten Ross, 1 great great granddaughter: Ally Cleveland, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 1 PM, Monday, November 30, 2009 at Barnes Friederich Funeral Home Chapel with interment to follow at Dale Cemetery, Dale, OK.
