Patricia Inez Derk, 67, of Tecumseh, Oklahoma passed away Friday, February 1, 2019 in Oklahoma City.

She was born April 28, 1951 in Fort Sill, Oklahoma to Cecil and Inez (Jones) Johnston.

Patricia was raised overseas in a military family. She attended Shawnee Public Schools and graduated from Shawnee High School. She has been a resident of Tecumseh for over 20 years.

Patricia married David Derk on July 20, 2003 in Shawnee, Oklahoma and he preceded her in death on April 21, 2010.

She was employed at Tinker Air Force Base and worked in many different areas. After retirement she worked at a clothing store which she enjoyed.

She was a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church in Shawnee for many years.

Patricia was an animal lover and adopted many rescue pets through the years. She enjoyed watching T.V. in the evenings, going dancing with her friends at the American Legion, and shopping, especially for shoes and clothes. Patricia was a people person and loved meeting and being around people.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Derk; and her parents, Cecil and Inez Johnston.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Christopher Smith of Tecumseh, OK; 3 brothers, William Johnston of McLoud, OK, Bert Roark of California and Richard Roark; sister, Anita Roark of Shawnee, OK; numerous extended family and friends; and her beloved pets.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, February 7, 2019 and from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home. Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 9, 2019 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Stephanie Stephens, Broadway United Methodist Church, Tecumseh, officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
