Loreta Coats, age 75, passed into the precious and loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ October 16, 2018 at Grace Living Center-Brookwood Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was born February 14, 1943, at home outside of Tecumseh to Robert and Dora Deatherage.

She was a devoted wife of almost 63 years who loved the Lord just the same. A loving and nurturing mother of 4 children, 3 boys and 1 girl.

Preceded in death by both her father and mother, Robert & Dora Deatherage of Tecumseh; four brothers, Glen Arthur, Fred, Ralph, Jimmy and one sister, Anna May Walker of Tecumseh; two sons, Bobby Gene Coats and Brian Lee Coats; and many loved nieces and nephews.

She was survived by her husband, Robert Coats Jr., Grandson, Bobby Gene Coats Jr & his wife Lashelle of MWC and their five beautiful daughters, Laura of Columbia, Missouri, Mackenzee, “Britches” Whitley, Taylor “Tater Bug”, and Paisley, Robin & Zach Stuerke and beautiful daughter Madison of Fort Collins, Colorado, Tony & Meara Ingram of El Reno and two beautiful daughters, Hayle & Raimey and son, Leyton Ingram, Whitney Ingram and son, Keaton of El Reno, Maegan Fulkerson & Tumas Hedrick and 4 children, Marquies, Maaliyah, Carter, Callie of MWC; Son, Billy Ray Coats of Taft OK and his four children, Billy Ray Coats Jr. and his four children, Patty, Meaghan, Shelbie, Zachary of Noble, Sumer & Eric Hayes and their son, Roman of Noble, Brandon Coats of Edmond, Benjamin & Whitney Coats and their sons, Adrian and Carter of Edmond; Daughter in Law - Brenda Coats and four children, Amanda & Jeremy and their two sons, Gabe and Gavin Kester of Yukon, Sandra & James Ulenhake and beautiful daughter Brooklyn of Bethany, Stefan & Angie Coats and beautiful daughter Cecelia “CeCe” of Katy Texas and Daniel Coats of Yukon; Daughter - Belinda & Kevin Cearley and two children, Allona & Seth Thomas and son Ashton of MWC and Arran Cearley and beautiful daughter, Grayson (Gracie) of Midwest City; two sisters, Anita and Richard “Red” Combs and Mildred and Jack Harris; and brother, Donnie & Shirley Deatherage all of Tecumseh/Shawnee Area and numerous loved cousins, nieces and nephews.

At the young age of 15 she married Robert Coats Jr at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Shawnee OK. They started their family in Shawnee OK. She traveled with her sweetheart to many rural and non-rural areas serving in the ministry as a Pastor’s Wife. Their journey started in Shawnee moved to Edmond, Midwest City, El Reno, Omega, Pink, Okarche, back to Pink, Shawnee, and Midwest City. Not to mention the churches they served in as a supply pastor and traveled to many different rural areas. Churches no one else heard of or could find, they found.

She had a love of Good Ole` Southern Baptist Music and enjoyed singing and praising with the homeless Ministry “Our Father’s Helpers Outreach” in Shawnee, OK with her very dear friends John & Mary Konwerski which they served about 15 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and going on “road-trips or camping trips” with her sweetheart. She had such a genuine and loving spirit. She will be greatly missed. She has her heavenly body which, she has longed for.

There are so many friends and individuals we would like to show our gratitude for the loving and compassionate care shown to her in these last days. Grace Living Center-Brookwood OKC, her precious nurse Allison, Russell Murray Hospice El Reno they were with her and the family til the last breath, and all of the friends who made countless meals, calls, check in’s and visits to the home in MWC or nursing home to make the transition as easy as possible during her last days. Your friendship, love, and kindness did not go unnoticed. Your support will be appreciated for years to come.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, October 19, 2018 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Sharon Baptist Church with Reverend Clint Dawkins, Sharon Baptist Church and Brother Leonard Sisson, Victory Baptist Chapel, Midwest City officiating. Graveside service will follow at Dale Cemetery 33500 45th Street McLoud, OK 74803 under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
