Charles Russal White, Sr., 78, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed from this life Sunday, January 10, 2021 in Shawnee.

He was born January 27, 1942 to Alvie and Ruth (Anders) White in Gerty, Oklahoma.

Charles “Charlie” was raised in the Village in Oklahoma City and graduated in 1961 from John Marshall High School.

He married Lavinia Long on May 7, 1958 in Gainesville, Texas. She preceded him in death on February 13, 2013. He later married Ramona Coats on June 1, 2018 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.

Charlie worked for T.G. & Y. Stores Co. as a stock boy, assistant manager and store manager for over 30 years. He helped open and manage a new store for Hobby-Lobby Stores in Lawton, Oklahoma and drove an 18 wheeler over the road for 3 years for American Eagle, and drove for Sinclair Oil Company for 7 years. After retirement he worked for Project Heart for about 7 years.

He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tecumseh and was passionate about his faith. Charlie enjoyed gardening and horticulture and was a master gardener. He loved country and western dancing, watching old westerns, loved golf and was a sports fanatic and avid OSU and OKC Thunder Fan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavinia White; son, Charles Russal White, Jr.; grandson, John Paul Gokey, Jr.; his parents; and brother, Alvie Leroy White.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ramona White of the home; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Tammy White Jordan and husband Brad of Tecumseh, OK, Tracey Laine Forrester and husband Dwayne of Tecumseh, OK and Celia Ruiz of CA; 1 son and 1 daughter-in-law, Samuel Wayne White and wife Canda of Bethel Acres, OK; step-sons, Billy Drew and Cammie Story of Bethany, OK and John Boy Drew and Amanda of Tecumseh, OK; 11 grandchildren, Charles Wayne Jordan (Wendi), Bradly Dale Jordan (Brandi), Taryn L. Rose (Garrett), Cody Stevenson (Sydney), Taylor White, Joshua Dwayne Forrester (Lacey), Jennifer Laine Dunn (Chris), Lacey Marie Thornwall (Nathan), Jamie Gardea (Marco), Gracie Drew and Chloe Drew; 10 great-grandchildren, Gabriella, Isaiah, Abbigale, Samuel, Bentley, Scarlett, Millie, Macie, Ainsley and Lincoln; and many loving friends and extended family.

Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 15, 2021 and continue through service time. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 16, 2021 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Lockard, First Baptist Church, Tecumseh, OK officiating. Burial will follow at Cummings Cemetery in Maud, OK under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CDC and State of Oklahoma Regulations and Guidelines, Cooper Funeral Home capacity is 150 people, mask recommended and practice social distancing.
