Thelma Loretta Tiffin was born March 12, 1933, in Tribbey, Oklahoma, to Leldon and Margie Dutton, the 3rd of 9 children. She died September 23, 2020, in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 87.

She is survived by her children, Kay (Roy) Niemyer of Edmond, OK, Shelia Tiffin of Norman, OK, Doyle (Zay) Tiffin of Norman, OK; grandchildren, Chad (Kelly) Niemyer of Cashion, OK, Tiffine (Michael) Montgomery of Edmond, OK, Kayla Tiffin of Norman, OK, Kaci Tiffin of Oklahoma City, OK, Wajer (Hannah) Tiffin of Springfield, MO; and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Shirley Weaver of Oklahoma City, OK, Helen Bonnel of Santa Cruz, CA, Earnest Dutton of Coalgate, OK and Sue Reynolds of Tribbey, OK. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Gene Tiffin; sisters, Louise Johnson and June Tate; and brothers, JD Dutton and Ira Dutton.

Loretta was known as a vivacious, fun loving woman who liked to live life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Known as an excellent cook who loved hosting Thanksgiving at her house annually. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren thought she was the coolest Granny & so did most of their friends.

Gene and Loretta lived in multiple places from Oklahoma and New Mexico in the 50’s to Texas and Beaver, OK in the 60’s and 70’s. Finally, back to West Texas in the 80’s before retiring to Norman, OK, in 1989. In retirement, they both volunteered at Norman Regional Hospital and watched their grandchildren grow up, following their sports and other activities.

After Gene’s passing she remained active but with a heavier heart. She enjoyed her Jazzercise girls & only “retired” from classes in the last couple of years. Thereafter, she still enjoyed gathering with the girls for social functions. Loretta lived independently until the day she died. For that, her children are thankful. We will miss her dearly. It was a life well lived.
