Robert F. Lempges, age 91, lifelong McLoud resident passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

Robert F. Lempges was born in McLoud, OK March 31, 1930 to Frank Lempges and Billie Terry Lempges. He passed Sunday, August 8, 2021 in Shawnee, OK. He was a lifelong resident of McLoud. Bob graduated from St. Gregory's High School in 1947. After attending Oklahoma A&M College (OSU) for two years, he joined the US Navy where he served four years on the USS Hugh Purvis. After the Navy, he returned to Stillwater and Oklahoma A&M and completed a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Science in 1956. This is where he met his wife of 62 years Janice Lee (Field) Lempges. They were married June 9, 1956 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Stillwater. Janice preceded Bob in death in July 2018.

Bob worked in Civil Service as a Maintenance Supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base for more than 26 years. He also sold and serviced Vermeer Hay Equipment for almost 40 years. He was a dedicated member of the McLoud community where he served 22 years on the McLoud Board of Education, 20 years on the McLoud City Council, 30 years on the McLoud Volunteer Fire Department among many other activities. He was a charter member of the Pottawatomie County Cattelemen's Association, a member of the McLoud American Legion, Lions Club, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Men's Club, and many other organizations.

Together Bob and Janice had seven children: Diana Lee Teel, deceased, Donald Frank, and wife Kelly, of McLoud, Marsha Joyce Shipley, and husband Tom, of McLoud, Steven Leon of Pauls Valley, Mark Thomas of McLoud, Cathy Marie Holland, and husband Johnny, of Clarksville, AR, and Lisa Kay Lempges of McLoud. There are nine grandchildren, Janet Johnson, Bobby Glen Teel, Travis Teel, Matthew Lempges, Jacob Lempges, Cynthia Holland, Jennifer Guemple, and Jonathan Holland. There are six great-grandchildren, Robert Johnson, Nola Sikes, Clara Lempges, Stella Lempges, Molly Lempges, and Ivy Mae Lempges.

Friends and loved ones may pay their respects at the funeral home from 8:00 am-6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in McLoud with Fr. Adrian Vorderlandwehr celebrating. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery in Shawnee, OK. Services are under the direction of Walker Funeral & Cremation Service.
