Services for Ida Mae Williams, 85, Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 24, 2012 at the Ada First Baptist Church, Dr. Pat Kilby officiating with Robert K. Lyon, son-in-law assisting. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Williams died Monday, November 19, 2012 at her home. She was born May 7, 1927, at Paris, Arkansas to Luther and Dorthy Clayborn Gabbard. She attended Indianola High School and Oklahoma Baptist University.
She married Kenneth R. Williams August 16, 1944 in Choate Prairie, Oklahoma.
Mrs. Williams served faithfully beside her husband Kenneth, a Southern Baptist Minister, for 62 years, serving at Velma Baptist, Velma, Parkview Baptist, Duncan Ridgeway Baptist in Sapulpa, McLoud, Platter, Temple Baptist in Fort Smith, Arkansas, Kinta Baptist, Choate Prairie Baptist and senior adult ministers at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow. She was member of the Ada First Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters; Evelyn Lyon and husband Robert K. of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, Freda Pierce and husband Greg of Ada, and Deborah Kaspereit and husband David of Duncan, Oklahoma; one son, Kenneth Lynn Williams of Ada; 10 grandchildren, Warren Lyon, Lynetta Harwood and husband Darrin, Brian Pierce and wife Cathy, Bradley Pierce, Kari Stomprud and husband Matt, Matthew Kaspereit, Aaron Kaspereit, Sarah Kaspereit, Sean Williams and Westin Williams; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Luther Gabbard, Jr. of Pauls Valley and Jimmy Gabbard and wife Carolyn, of Tyler, Texas; four sister-in-laws Sandra Gabbard and Margaret Gabbard of Tyler, Texas, Alta Anderson and husband Bob, Choctaw, Naomi Lusk of Muskogee and a brother-in-law, Jim Kelley of Broken Arrow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Williams on June 20, 2007; by her parents; brothers, D.L., Johnny, Jerry and Gerald; sisters, Margie, Betty and Ellen, 2 sisters-in-law, Anna Kelley and Maxine Gabbard and one precious great-grandson, Corban Lyon.
Bearers will be grandsons, Warren Lyon, Brian Pierce, Bradley Pierce, Matthew Kaspereit, Aaron Kaspereit and Sean Williams. Honorary bearers will be Westin Williams, Darrin Harwood and Matt Stomprud.
