Services for Norvel Perry Turner, Jr., 95, of Petal, Mississippi, are 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 26, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Aaron Foshee will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Turner passed away Saturday, August 21, 2021 in Mississippi. He was born December 9, 1925 in Centrahoma to Norvel Perry and Fannie Mae Boland Turner.

He married Ruth Ann Duffy in Ada, July 15, 1950. She preceded him in death December 12, 2004. Mr. Turner was a Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy where he served in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Mr. Turner was a long-time member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors are son, Perry Turner and wife Janet, Sand Springs; daughter, Karin Velasquez and husband Benito, Petal, Mississippi; brother, William Turner, Ada; three grandchildren, Rachael Ranallo and husband Adam, Eufaula, Patrick Turner and wife Brittany, Bixby, and Ari Humphrey and husband Phillip, Hattiesburg, Mississippi; four great-grandchildren, Emelyn Turner, Rowan Turner, Turner Ranallo and Colton Humphrey; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norvel and Fannie Turner; wife, Ruth Turner; three brothers, J.W. Turner, George Turner and Doil Turner; two sisters, Jessie Mae Robertson and Novella Gibson; and two sons, James Gregory Turner and Ronald Patrick Turner.
