Services will be Friday, 10:00 a.m. at the Union Valley Baptist Church, N. 361 Rd., Stonewall, OK 74871, Rev. Richard Bailey will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mary Elizabeth “Bottoms” Thomas, at the age of 79, went to be with her Lord and many other loved ones on August 29, 2017. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was an actual firecracker, born July 4, 1938 to Roy Bottoms and Marie “Armstrong” Bottoms. She worked for DHS as a Non-Tech. Medical Care Provider for elderly people for a very long time. She endured 20 years as an Air Force wife to Sammie Lee Thomas. They were married September 1, 1956. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by one daughter, Robin “Thomas” Abbott, son-in-law Vince Abbott; one son, Russell Thomas; one sister, Betty “Bottoms” Brown and husband Dean Brown; sister-in-law, Joyce Bottoms; five grandchildren, Rodney “Thomas” Williams and husband John Williams, Mandy “Thomas” Kettle, Shannon Thomas and wife Christine “Reed” Thomas, Justin Thomas and wife Whitney “Morris” Thomas, and Misty Abbott, and four great-grandchildren, Bryce Kettle, Marissa Pope, Avery Pope Thomas, and Ryan Thomas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Roy Bottoms; her husband, Sammie; two children, Brenda Lynn Thomas and Richard Thomas and his wife Pat Thomas; two brothers, Vona Ray Bottoms, John “Johnney” Bottoms; one sister, Wanda Fey “Bottoms” Hilburn and husband Joe, and one grandchild, Dusty Bo Abbott.
Bearers will be Dale Walker, Scott Bottoms, Wesley Pope, Robbie Smith, Weldon Bell, and John Bell.
