The family of Margaret Lucille Shumard, 85, of Ada will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mrs. Shumard passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019 at a local nursing home. She was born July 3, 1933 at Soper to Joe Charles and Bethel Foster Randell.

She married Warren Harding Shumard May 20, 1970 in Texas. He preceded her in death April 29, 1995. Mrs. Shumard worked at the Byng School Cafeteria, retiring in 2005.

Survivors include a son, Charles Harding “Chuck” Shumard of Illinois; a grandson she raised, Gunner Shumard of Illinois; five children whom where reared by her first husband. Sons, Roger Weddle and wife Cathy, Ada, Joe Weddle and wife Karen, Ada, Glen Weddle and wife Jeanette, Stonewall and Ricky Weddle and wife Dana, Seminole; a daughter, Janet Painter and husband Bill of Ada; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; a brother, Joe Earl Randell and wife Patsy of Grandview, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a great-grandson, Keith Foley; her brothers, Walter Randell and Jimmy Charles Randell; and sisters, Josephine Atwood, Mary Ann Watham and her youngest sister and best friend, Kathy Hays. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Jack Anderson, Jr.; and sister, Mae Crow.
