Services for Billy Ray (Bill) Scott, 85, of Latta are 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Southwest Church of Christ, Brian Lewis will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mr. Scott passed away Monday, January 18, 2021 at a local hospital. He was born October 10, 1935 at Strothers, OK to George W. and Dora V. Dove Scott. He graduated from Varnum High School. He received a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from East Central University in Ada, and an Administrators Certificate from the University of Oklahoma.
He married Ramona Eberle December 25, 1960 in Sasakwa. Mr. Scott was a teacher and coach, having taught at Fitzhugh Schools for two years, McLish Schools for 21 years, and Latta Schools for 17 years. He served as the Superintendent of McLish schools. Later, Mr. Scott worked at Criswell Funeral Home. He was a longtime member of Southwest Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Ramona, of the home; two daughters, Vicki Maley, Allen, TX and Vonda McFarling and husband Bradley, Fairview, TX; a son, Mike Scott, Ada; one brother, Jerry G. Scott and wife Rita, Shawnee; four grandchildren, Amber Vandever (Isaac), Scott Maley (Amber), Dalton McFarling (Grace) and Daaron McFarling; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Betty Brinsfield; and two brothers, Darrell Scott and Roland Scott.
Bearers will be his grandsons, Scott Maley, Dalton McFarling, Daaron McFarling and Isaac Vandever. Honorary bearers will be Lanny Sliger, Marvin Mitchell, Todd Crabtree, Kevin Flowers, Eldon Flinn and Virgil Gantt.
