Harriette was born to Charles Lafayette Boiles and Pearl Louvenia Boiles (nee Webb) on December 8th, 1936 as the third child of the couple, preceded by her eldest brother Charles Lafayette Boiles Jr., and her elder sister Anita Jane Robbins (nee Boiles). She spent the last years of her father's life focused on his care and after his passing began a new adventure as an employee in the medical records department at Valley View Regional Hospital (now Mercy Hospital Ada). Her co-workers have described her as feisty, funny, compassionate, and hard-working, qualities that marked her entire life. In addition, she was often referred to as "an Ada original" who had a way of relating to and communicating with people of all ages and walks of life.
