Funeral services for Sam Gurley, (95) of Ada, will be Monday, January 3, 2022 at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada at 11am and burial will follow at Rosedale cemetery.

Mr. Gurley was born February 19, 1926 west of Ada and died December 28, 2021 in Ada.

He graduated from Fitzhugh High School. Sam and Charlene Barnes were married October 25, 1947; she preceded him in death in 2010 after 63 years of marriage.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia (& Michael) Christian of The Colony, Texas, and three sons: Elvin Gurley, Ada; Keith Gurley, Ada; and Gary Gurley, Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by a grandson Shawn Christian, and three brothers: Wendell (& Treva) Gurley, Ada; Floyd (& Pat) Gurley, Ada, and Lloyd (& Mary) Gurley, Sulphur.

Many of his older friends will remember Sam from his many years working at Brockway Glass in Ada. After retirement Sam and Charlene traveled for many years together. They were members of Asbury United Methodist Church.
