Services for Solomon Lawrence Gantt, 80, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Ahloso Baptist Church, Bro. Wayne Graves will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.

Mr. Gantt died Thursday, November 8, 2018 at his home. He was born June 7, 1938 in Ada to Jessie Leon and Lillian Virginia Flowers Gantt. He graduated from Stonewall High School.

Solomon Gantt married Barbara Inez Kelly on January 23, 1960 in Durant. He was a member and deacon of Ahloso Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard. He retired from Arkla Gas. He also was a business owner and served in the Chickasaw Honor Guard for 17 years.

Survivors include his wife Barbara, of the home; a daughter, Catherine Hice and husband Steve of Ada; four grandchildren, Shaun Garrison and wife Jaime; Roxanna Gantt, Stonewall, Shandi Gibson, Ada, and Stacy Blackwood and husband Kevin of Ada; four great-grandchildren, Silver Garrison, Michael Gibson, Layla Smith and Rowan Garrison; brother, Virgil Gantt and wife Sharon, Harden City; sisters-in-law, Brenda Gantt and Sissie Gantt; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, James Cornell Gantt; grandson, Jesse Garrison; and brothers, Jim Gantt and Jerry Gantt.

Bearers are Shaun Garrison, Brett Gantt, Mark Gantt, Greg Gantt, Barry Gantt and Aaron Gantt. Honorary bearers are Jim Hunter, Curtis Ross, Sandy Schutte, Derek Landrith and Corbin Gantt. Criswell Funeral Home, Ada
