Services for David Lee Ellis, 64, of Ada are 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Ada First Baptist Church, Dr. Rusty Fuller will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Ellis passed away Friday, September 25, 2020 in New Mexico. He was born July 15, 1956 in Ada to WBP Ellis and Velma Sue Beck Ellis. He attended Stonewall Grade School and graduated from Stonewall High School. He also attended East Central University. David was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ada where he had served as President. He was a member of the Ada Miniature Aircraft Club. He had many hobbies and restored many vintage vehicles.

He married Marilyn Sue Teel December 20, 1982 at the Ada Baptist Temple. Mr. Ellis worked for the City of Ada for 40 ˝ years, retiring July 2018 as the City of Ada Water and Sewer Line Superintendent. Mr. Ellis was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn, of the home; his children, David Ellis, Jr. and wife Teresa, Ada, Daron Ellis and Ashley, Ada, Michelle Fields and husband Leontae, Thornton, CO, and Miranda Bond and husband James, Ada; a brother, Alvin Ellis and wife Cheryl, Stonewall; sister, Janna Motsinger and husband Mike, Stonewall; and his grandchildren, Bishop Fields, Noah Fields, Dyson Palmer, Marlee Palmer, Paix Ellis, Major Ellis, Ava Ellis, Josalynn Bond, Dillon Palmer, Paige Berry, Andre Williams, Adrian Gonzalez, and a grandchild on the way, Blakelee Ellis; and a great-grandchild, Silas Williams.

Bearers will be Bill Cannon, Jim Sanders, Lyndon Sutton, Jack Lambert, Darren Flowers, Mike Hall, Roy Gearhart, Randy Harp, Don Carpenter and Robert McCreary. The family says those who wish may make memorials to “Kiwanis Save the Train”, P. O. Box 248, Ada, OK 74821.
