Funeral services for Camilla Jewell (Phillips) Collins, 99, of Edmond, formerly of Allen and Ada, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 2, at Criswell’s Funeral Home in Ada, Reb. Bob Langston will officiate. Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 3, at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Camilla Jewell (Phillips) Collins passed away peacefully on November 26, 2018, in Edmond. Daughter of Oren Dewey Phillips and Nancy Jane (Gray) Phillips was born at home in Allen, Oklahoma, on July 10, 1919. She graduated from Francis High School in May 1937 and continued her education at East Central College in Ada for two years. She spent most of the remaining years of her long life in the Ada and Roff, Oklahoma area. Here she made life-long friends.

Jewell was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Ada until her recent move to Edmond, Oklahoma’s Bradford Village Assisted Living. In Edmond, she was close to surviving family members including her daughter, Kay (Bell) Cowden, and her granddaughter, Deborah Hanska and husband Steve. Her grandson, Tim Cowden and wife Monique, visited often from Overland Park, Kansas.

Great-grandchildren who she left with fond memories are Sarah, Joe, Anna, and Jack Cowden; Garrett and Jesse Hanska. Jewell is also survived by her sister, Billie Barnes, who resides at Baptist Village Assisted Living in Ada, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Collins of Roff, Oklahoma.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Oklahoma, 2448 E. 81st Street, Ste. 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137.

The family wishes to thank all the caregivers at Ada Baptist Home and Bradford Village for their commitment to Jewell’s health and comfort these past few years.
