Graveside services for Jimmie Lou Bonar, 87, of Ada will be held at 10 am, Thursday, July 22, 2021 at Rosedale Cemetery. Son-in-law, Will Thompson will officiate. Mrs. Bonar passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021. She was born November 30, 1933 near Allen, OK to Snowden James and Flora Mae (Minton) Miller. She graduated from Ada High School and received her BA and MS in counseling at East Central University. She married Robert “Bob” Bonar, October 13, 1955. Mrs. Bonar was a teacher, school counselor, Director of Ada Campfire Girls, and a Bible Study Leader. She attended the Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband of the home, Bob Bonar; daughters, Janie Thompson and husband Will of Arkadelphia, Ark., and Donna Vessels of Ada; son, Paul Bonar and wife Kathy of Oklahoma City, OK; sister, Shirley Schiff of Santa Maria, CA.; six grandchildren, Philip Thompson and wife Elizabeth, Christina Osborn and husband Cole, Sarah Rainbolt and husband Ryan, Chelsea Bonar, Jonathan Bonar, and Erin Hoskin; and nine great grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to Ballard Nursing Home and Elara Hospice Care for their help in caring for their wife and mother as she graduated peacefully on.
