Services for J. E. “Joe” Barton, 93, of Broken Arrow, formerly of Ada, are 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the United Pentecostal Church, 1730 N. 9th Street, Broken Arrow. Pastor Andrew Moss will officiate. A Committal Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.

Mr. Barton passed away Sunday, July 21, 2019 in Tulsa. He was born November 28, 1925 at Ada to Joseph Elijah and Laura Ethel Couch Barton. He attended Ada schools and graduated from East Central University with a Bachelor’s Degree.

He married Juanita R. Daniels June 23, 1951. She preceded him in death December 19, 2000. Mr. Barton was the Plant Foreman with Martin Marietta in Tulsa until his retirement. He served in the U. S. Army Field Artillery in Europe from 1944-1946.

Survivors include a daughter, Janeen Summers and husband Tony of Broken Arrow; two grandchildren, Hayley Norsworthy and husband Jacob of Broken Arrow and Barton Blake Summers of Tulsa; a great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Norsworthy of Broken Arrow; his niece, Charlene Bowers of Ada; three nephews, Jim and Sherry Jones, Tulsa, Gary and Carol Jones, Wynnewood and Dewayne and Debbie Tucker, Sherman, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; two brothers; and a son, Stacey Barton in 1989.

Bearers will be Tony Summers, Blake Summers, Jim Jones, Vince Jones, Chad Bowers and Gary Jones.

He will be deeply missed.
